2014 Fun Run – Amazing Success

  • by

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOur Inaugural Seaford Wetlands Fun Run took place yesterday….and what a success it was.  The weather was very kind as the 341 competitors and their friends and families congregated at Seaford North Primary School for the first ever Seaford Wetlands Fun Run.

Our 80 or so wonderful volunteers arrived nice and early and were designated to their areas around the wetlands and starting area.  The 2km competitors enjoyed a warm up from Moving Forward Fitness before setting off around 9am.  Next was the warm up for the 5km and 10km runners that set off around 9.30am & 9.35am.  As the start/finish line all of a sudden seemed quite empty, it wasn’t long before we were congratulating our runners as they crossed the finish line.  Each participant received a medal that was specially designed by a student at Seaford North Primary School.

The weather continued to warm up the competitors as they returned from the run, but it wasn’t long before presentations took place around 11am.  Many competitors were awarded with trophies and we congratulate everyone on their efforts.  To see the full list of race results, click here (thanks to Tomato Timing).

Overall it was a huge success, but most importantly, a great fundraising result for Kindred Clubhouse.  We will announce our Fundraising total in the coming days so please stay tuned.  In the meantime, please lock in Sunday 22nd November 2015 if you would like to take part in next year’s event.

Speaking of next year, we know there are things we can do even better than this year, so please feel free to send through your feedback (good and bad) to pr@rotarypeninsula.org.  We appreciate your comments.
