We have had a recent visit from Tania Palmer, Green Gecko Director, and 3 Geckos, including the star of the recently released film Buoyancy. After walking the red carpet at the MIFF, they attended our club meeting to tell us all about their recent successes. Each of the Geckos have achieved such wonderful milestones in their lives. Srey Neang and Singly are both in university, and Sarm stars in the the movie Bouyancy, a story about human trafficking.
We were also very privileged to have Bridie Keily, Frankston’s Young Volunteer of the Year for 2018, share with us her many volunteering roles, and how they have not only helped her attain employment, but also enabled her to make a difference in the lives of the marginalized and at-risk youth in Frankston.
All these young people are incredible role models, not just for our youth, but for all of us. Our future is in good hands.
