A warm welcome was extended to our Rotaractors from Phnom Penh, a Rotarian from Nepal, and visitors from other clubs, to Poolie's Place, for a wonderful dinner and night of fellowship.![]()
President of the Rotaractors, Sokun, gave an excellent presentation on how the Rotaractors are giving back to their community. The future of Cambodia is in good hands with these young people.![]()
We also heard from Incoming Rotary President Sabita Basnet from Kathmandu, who shared with us the exciting projects they are doing.![]()
An exceptional night. Once again, many thanks to our hosts Trudy and Russell Poole and to everyone who contributed to a very enjoyable evening.

A new event at the Frankston Waterfront Festival, a Duck Derby!![]()
Our Rotary Club Peninsula 2.0 released 600 ducks into Kananook Creek in Frankston, where the ducks "raced" to the finish line. $10 to bid on a duck and get your lucky number, with all funds raised going to local environment groups.![]()
We were assisted by local Scout clubs in canoes, Interact Volunteers from Frankston High School, and many volunteers from our community to pull off this event.![]()
What a great result! Competition was fierce and the crowd roared as the ducks raced towards the boat ramp. The first 12 lucky ducks who crossed the finish line received great prizes, all donated by local businesses.![]()
We hope to do this event next year. Thank you to everyone for your support! 🙌

Rotary Peninsula 2.0 so proud to be connected to this amazing project making a difference to the lives of young people in developing countries. Today we have another eye-welling, mind-blowing moment to share with you. Our Gecko Dynamo and Dentist-to-be, SOKUN, has been elected PRESIDENT of Rotaract Club of Phnom Penh Central!![]()
As if entering her 6th year of Dentistry, fulfilling scholarship obligations, volunteering in the community and being the family leader for seven younger siblings wasn't enough... Sokun has stepped up to do more for her community through her club's activities. ![]()
We were blessed to have Om Kate at the Induction Ceremony to share the special moment. She watched on proudly as Sokun took the stage, looking very much like the young professional to receive the Rotaract Bell and ring in the new term!![]()
Kate said seeing Sokun stand in front of their members, holding court, was such an inspiring and proud moment. Her speech was beautifully delivered, and the support and respect she has from not only her fellow Rotaractors and peers but those from other Rotary Clubs was clearly evident. ![]()
The Rotary Club - in all its forms - has supported Green Gecko for 15+ years and has been integral to our achievements. To see one of their beneficiary's journey from street kid to Rotaract President within these 15 years is a testament to the sucess of our collaboration.![]()
Sokun is joined by two of her Gecko siblings in her leadership year, with Srey Roat as an active member and Kim Suan as Fundraising Manager. We couldn't be prouder of their commitment to their community and look forward to seeing their efforts unfold in the coming year.

We have all been saddened and outraged at what is happening in the Ukraine. But what can we do to help?![]()
Rotary Peninsula 2.0 Past President Phil Lancaster decided to do something about it.
Phil contacted Rotary Clubs in Ukraine and Poland. Funds are needed to provide food, water, medical supplies and shelter to those remaining in Ukraine, and to the Polish people who are sheltering those fleeing Ukraine.![]()
On April 12 Rotary Peninsula 2.0 organised a fund raising event, where we assemble oil testing kits for the Caterpillar machinery company that services the mines.![]()
We had over 40 people attend - our friends, members of other Rotary clubs, and special guests from Ukraine.![]()
Chrestyna Kmetj is of Ukrainian heritage and lives in Mt Martha. Her husband's cousin and daughter are staying with her, having recently arrived from Ukraine.![]()
They are still in shock from what they have gone through, and Irena's husband is still in Ukraine.![]()
We heard first hand what is happening and how the funds we raise can help those who remain in Ukraine, and those who fled to Poland.![]()
It is wonderful that Rotary is indeed an international organisation, and we can help people on the ground right now with our Rotary connections.![]()
Thank you to Phil Lancaster for your initiative in setting up this event, and once again to Trudy and Russell Poole for opening up your home for us. We raised $2000 that will go directly to Rotary clubs in Ukraine and Poland.![]()
A really great night of community involvement. Together we make a difference 🌻💙💛🌻
