Youth

Youth Team leader – John Reeve

Assistant – Ann Cousins

As a club, our main aim is to fundraise for Youth Projects on the Mornington Peninsula.  We aim to have a large variety of projects to complete.  Here are some that we are currently involved in:

youth

To kick off 2014 we will be financing wrist bands for Youth Central Hangouts in the Frankston Council area. There are eight hangouts that give young people a safe, supervised place to go for   socialising as well as education. The wristbands will be distributed through schools and in particular grades 5 and 6. This will be the start of what we intend will be an ongoing partnership between Rotary and Youth Central.

UPDATE @ 30th March:   The wrist bands have arrived and are being distributed to schools.  A sausage sizzle is being organized and Wendy has ask if we could consider  helping them.  They will let us know dates soon. Some members are attending the Anti Bullying Forum on Friday 4th April.  Any members would be welcome to attend and ‘show our Rotary flag’. The idea of a breakfast/fruit bowl has been muted and they are looking into the feasibility of one in Frankston. Our club may be interested in assisting in this but we need to know more details before we commit. The Youth Centre is very appreciative of our support.
