Last night we had the pleasure of our District Governor (DG) Charlie Spiers and his wife Janne attend our club meeting. Â Janne talked about her DG wife’s project that she is undertaking with Operation Cleft in Bangladesh. Â For just $250 a child can undergo the necessary surgery to repair Cleft Palate . Â We hope our club can donate funds to this worthy cause sometime soon.
Charlie gave us all a very inspirational speech about Rotary in general as well as the Foundation. Â He talked about how as Rotarians, we have the ability to do whatever we can to make a positive difference to other peoples lives – Rotary is the vehicle we can use to do this. Â Its about making other people feel important and worthy of a helping hand.
We thank Charlie & Janne for coming along to join our meeting, as well as our other special guests, ADG David Hanlon, PDG Tony Spring and his wife Carla.
